For years, students have credited me with helping them ace science courses.

I have been tutoring undergraduates and post-baccalaureate students since 2023, when I began at the Brooklyn College Learning Center.

At the Learning Center (2023 - 2025), I guided countless students through Organic Chemistry I & II, General Chemistry I & II, and college English courses.

Before every major exam, I conducted live-streamed study sessions to packed audiences of students. These can be found today on my YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0Uqku_C4CA&t=830s. Many students later told me that my accessible, analogy-based explanations of key chemistry topics made those topics click to them for the first time.

I also tutored students 1-on-1 around this time. I brought that same explanatory style to my individual students. One of my Organic Chemistry II students went from scoring in the 60/100 range on her exams to getting a 90/100 on her final. This progress was made during our weekly tutoring sessions.

I have a unique approach to MCAT tutoring.

I believe that the MCAT is a reading comprehension test. I teach my students how to read MCAT passages, questions, and answer choices such that they can answer the questions correctly.

In sessions, I read official AAMC passages with my students and answer the questions alongside them, working through the cognitive steps required to arrive at the solution. At the end of every session, I outline the step-by-step process my student went through to get to their answer, so they can carry that forward as a strategy.

I am living proof of the success of this approach. In college, I majored in art history and psychology. I never took a chemistry, physics, or biology course on my college campus. And yet, I achieved a better MCAT score than the vast majority of science majors taking the exam. That is because my greatest asset, from the beginning, was my ability to read and critically analyze the text in front of me. My own MCAT tutor helped me focus my reading specifically on science-based texts. This was the key that unlocked my greatest improvements in score.

I will tell you when I’m no longer needed.

Every student needs a different amount of tutoring. That’s why I don’t sell packages of sessions. If I think you can succeed on your own for the remainder of your prep. I will tell you. If I think you will not succeed on this exam on the date you’ve registered for it, I will tell you.

1-on-1 Tutoring is like a tool. It is meant to be used for one part of the MCAT prep process and then put back in the tool box.

I’ve been approached by all of the top MCAT prep players, including UWorld, Inspira Advantage, and Kaplan. I have continually turned down their offers for paid promotions and positions as a tutor. I only guide students towards resources that I have seen work for me and for others who have aced the MCAT.
